Drugging Our Children

Big Pharma is trying to give all children "screening tests" so they can be put on drugs before they reach high school! These kids are going to be in charge of our society some day and they are not going to be very effective if they've been forced to take drugs throught their developmental years.Sign the petition: http://www.petitiononline.com/TScreen/

"Crook"Ville Police Lets The Dogs Out

A Cookeville officer is seen allegedly placing drugs on the man, Carlos Ferrell, before arresting him.

Ferrell is now suing the city of Cookeville, the police department, Putnam County, and the sheriff's office for $10 million.

During the arrest, Ferrell was also bitten by a police K9.

Chris Melton, one of the officers involved, is now on leave, and his police force is facing statewide scrutiny.

One officer has been placed on leave because of the incident, and five others are named in the federal lawsuit.

Police car video from the Cookeville Police Department captured the incident that triggered the lawsuit.

On the night of June 4, 2007, Carlos Ferrell was stopped by police on a domestic assault warrant. According to the lawsuit, Ferrell's ex-wife, Tiffany, saw Ferrell, called police and was involved in the initial chase.

Once Ferrell came to a stop, he was ordered out of the car by Cookeville police Officer Chris Melton.

“Put your hands up, and get out of the car,” Melton is heard telling Ferrell on the tape.

Ferrell, 28, exits the car with his arms raised while Officer Jeff Johnson is holding the department’s police dog. The video shows the dog bite Ferrell several times.

Attorney Blair Durham is representing Ferrell.

“The dog is released. The dog then chews into Mr. Ferrell's leg where, of course, he goes to the ground,” he said.

"Your dog just ate my leg off,” Ferrell said on the tape.

Durham also accused Melton of planting drugs on Ferrell. In the dash cam video, Melton is seen searching Ferrell's pockets a number of times.

Then, Durham said, another officer appears to give a signal with his hand, at which point Melton then reaches into his right pocket and looks into the camera. It’s at that point on the tape that Durham said Melton appears to put drugs in Ferrell's pocket.

“Whoa, Carlos, weed? Now you got you another freaking charge, how about that?" Melton told Ferrell in the video.

Melton has been placed on administrative leave with pay. The night of the stop, Ferrell was charged with evading arrest and possession of marijuana.

“That’s a complete drug plant is what I'm alleging. It’s a complete unlawful search, first of all, and it’s a planting of paraphernalia,” Durham said.

Cookeville police said they are "completely cooperating with the TBI (Tennessee Bureau of Investigation)." A representative said the department is not trying to hide anything and doesn’t want to look like it is.

Police took Ferrell to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries. Durham said Ferrell is no choir boy but that he's never been arrested on violent offenses.

According to his record, Ferrell has two DUIs and a previous drug possession charge.

What Is An Earmark? If You Pay Taxes, You Need To Know

Do you know where your tax dollars are going? How about to build 10 multi-million-dollar military cargo planes that the Pentagon hasn't asked for? What about to fund the "Home of the Perfect Christmas Tree" in Spruce Pine, North Carolina?

These congressional pet projects, sometimes referred to as pork-barrel spending, are these days more commonly called earmarks. They are provisions inserted into bills that allocate funds directly to colleges, local agencies, or private businesses, without public hearing or oversight.

And since so many recent scandals and ethics inquiries have surfaced that revolve around congressional favors and earmarks, watchdog groups have been reading the fine print and publishing

Holes in the Wall

The Department of Homeland Security is currently marching down the Texas-Mexico border, serving condemnation lawsuits to frightened landowners whose homes will be destroyed to make way for a border wall. However certain properties seem immune from the plans; the wall will come to an end, for no apparent reason, when it intersects locations such as the luxurious River Bend Resort and vast swathes of land owned by billionaire oil magnate Ray L. Hunt.

Along the border, preliminary plans for fencing seem to target landowners of modest means, who will have no say as the government bulldozes their property, while land owned by the rich and Bush-connected remains untouched, leaving gaping holes in the border fence (and rendering it pointless).

Police officer escorting Clinton killed in Dallas

AP DALLAS - A police motorcycle officer died after a crash while escorting Hillary Rodham Clinton's motorcade to a campaign rally.

"We are just heartsick at this loss of life in the line of duty," a subdued Clinton told reporters after the Dallas rally.

The New York senator and Democratic presidential candidate canceled her next appearance in Fort Worth, Texas, telling about 2,000 people who had gathered outside the Tarrant County courthouse that it would be inappropriate to campaign in the wake of the officer's death.

Instead, she went to Methodist Medical Center, where she planned to visit with the officer's family.

"It is important that we respect and appreciate their service," she said. "I certainly am grateful for all they do for me."

The 20-year Dallas police veteran, who was not immediately identified, died after apparently crashing into a concrete barrier along a viaduct near downtown Dallas, said Lt. Vernon Hale, a police spokesman. Aerial video showed wreckage scattered for several yards.

The officer was in the rear of the motorcade, following it as it took a turn not far from Dealey Plaza, where John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963.

Asked if police had enough lead time to plan a safe route, Hale said, "It doesn't matter with our guys. They've been doing this so long. Of course, we already had one tragedy in Dallas."

In August 2006, an Albuquerque, N.M., police officer in President Bush's motorcade died in a motorcycle crash. Germaine Casey, 40, died on Aug. 27 when he crashed as Bush returned to the airport after a fundraiser for Sen. Pete Domenici, R-N.M.

In November 2006, Honolulu police Officer Steve Favela died when he and two other motorcycle officers crashed while part of a presidential motorcade.

The Water Cure: Debating Torture and Counterinsurgency—A Century Ago

A picture of a “water detail,” reportedly taken in May, 1901, in Sual, the Philippines. “It is a terrible torture,” one soldier wrote.

Many Americans were puzzled by the news, in 1902, that United States soldiers were torturing Filipinos with water. The United States, throughout its emergence as a world power, had spoken the language of liberation, rescue, and freedom. This was the language that, when coupled with expanding military and commercial ambitions, had helped launch two very different wars. The first had been in 1898, against Spain, whose remaining empire was crumbling in the face of popular revolts in two of its colonies, Cuba and the Philippines. The brief campaign was pitched to the American public in terms of freedom and national honor (the U.S.S. Maine had blown up mysteriously in Havana Harbor), rather than of sugar and naval bases, and resulted in a formally independent Cuba.

More Shock And Awe From the US Military, But For Who's Benefit?

The Navy conveniently had news cameras along for their latest bit of shock and awe to impress, oh, let's see ... voters? the Chinese? Certainly not environmentalists, however, who are horrified by the vaporization of the toxic satellite in our upper atmosphere.

Brain control headset for gamers

Gamers will soon be able to interact with the virtual world using their thoughts and emotions alone.
A neuro-headset which interprets the interaction of neurons in the brain will go on sale later this year.

"It picks up electrical activity from the brain and sends wireless signals to a computer," said Tan Le, president of US/Australian firm Emotiv.

"It allows the user to manipulate a game or virtual environment naturally and intuitively," she added.

The brain is made up of about 100 billion nerve cells, or neurons, which emit an electrical impulse when interacting. The headset implements a technology known as non-invasive electroencephalography (EEG) to read the neural activity.

Ms Le said: "Emotiv is a neuro-engineering company and we've created a brain computer interface that reads electrical impulses in the brain and translates them into commands that a video game can accept and control the game dynamically."

How Americans Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Workplace Drug Testing

"Observers still debate how much safer and more productive drug testing makes the workplace. But there's at least one outfit that has no complaints about its efficacy. Forty million drug tests at an average of $30 a pop equals a $1.2 billion subsidy the federal government receives from the private sector each year to help prosecute its endless War on Drugs."

Report critical of army in Iraq suppressed

US army suppresses Rand report

Phyllis Bennis is a Senior Analyst at the Institute for Policy Studies in Washington DC. She is the author of Before and After: US Foreign Policy and the September 11 Crisis and Challenging Empire: How People, Governments, and the UN Defy US Power.

Here They Come

A 1,000-strong elite police force arrested almost three dozen people in Villiers-le-Bel suspected of leading the rioting last November set off after two teens were killed in a motorbike collision with a police vehicle.

There acting like this was a raid. Thats a army and it looks like a warzone. I can only imagine how many people were rounded up.

U.S. Embassy Attacked After Kosovo Independence Win.

SEVERAL hundred protesters threw stones and flares at riot police protecting the US embassy in Belgrade today after Kosovo's declaration of independence, witnesses said.

One policeman was injured during scuffles as riot police fought to keep the protesters, mainly hardline football fans, away from the embassy building, the witnesses said. One embassy window was smashed.

The protesters marched through the middle of the capital towards the US embassy chanting "Kosovo is Serbia" and anti-American slogans. They waved Serbian flags and vowed to protest "until Kosovo is returned to Serbia".

After the scuffles, protesters dispersed in nearby streets, while the police remained around the embassy compound.

That big explosion is the U.N building. This is a clear statement that they want to run their own country without the U.S and U.N.

Kennedy calls Clinton attacks 'fear-mongering'

CHICAGO, Illinois (CNN) — Responding to a mailer sent out by Hillary Clinton's campaign attacking Barack Obama's healthcare plan, Obama backer and longtime Massachusetts Sen. Ted Kennedy said the tactics are ones of "distortion, misrepresentation," and "fear-mongering."

"I respect Sen. Clinton and her healthcare plan," Kennedy said, "but I think it does a great disservice to all of us who are interested in universal comprehensive healthcare."

On a conference call with reporters, Kennedy said that as someone who considers healthcare to be the "passion of his life in the Senate," the nation is "much better off being positive."

The ad, being circulated via mailboxes in Wisconsin, relays a theme the Clinton campaign has been pushing since the days of Iowa–that Obama's healthcare plan will leave "15 million people without coverage." The ad also includes a photo of seven people standing in a row underneath text that reads "Barack Obama, which one of these people don't deserve healthcare?"

"I was really shocked and very surprised that Sen. Clinton put that pamphlet out," he continued, adding that both Democratic candidates want universal healthcare but that Obama is the one to get it done since he has the ability to bring the kind of coalition needed to accomplish it.

Why would people live in FEMA Camps

Why would sane people willingly go to one of the numerous FEMA camps that exist across the U.S.? Answer: Because they are starving, have lost their homes, have no employment prospects, and literally have nowhere else to go.

The emphasis in the news of late on the Police State that is coming our way outlines the brutality that the “authorities” are using and are about to use on we the people, who are not of the “elite” class. Rounding people up to take them to FEMA camps is one scenario, and one that I believe is not unreasonable. However, I would like to step out of the box for a minute and take a look at the situation from another perspective.

Let’s look at New Orleans. One of the main disasters in New Orleans was the water. Another was the herding of people who had literally no place to go into detention facilities; excuse me, places of refuge. When they got there, these people were treated like rabble, then dispersed. People are still looking for dispersed family members that are who knows where. The poorer people literally gave up their freedom because they did not know what else to do. They had no homes, they were on the verge of drowning, starvation was looming, and the water was not fit to drink. Prime candidates for a FEMA camp; excuse me, place of refuge, experiment.

Now, let’s expand this picture to the coming depression. It is not over-the-top to look a bit into the future by looking into the past. It is 1929, and people are jumping out of windows. It is now 2008, or thereabouts, and people who have lost everything and do not know how to survive are running to the FEMA camps; excuse me, places of refuge, for food, shelter, and security.

The “authorities” do not even have to deploy force to a population that goes where it is supposed to willingly. With so many of us, which is the best method of operation? Yup, getting them to go willingly. By creating a situation that leads them to the right conclusions, you have your ready and waiting FEMA camps; excuse me, places of refuge, filled to the gills. The only thing required to start the process is a big enough catastrophe. Is a financial meltdown big enough? Just ask the poor people in New Orleans who were left with nothing when the water poured through town. They’ll tell you.

She was one of the first females to work at the facility in this classification. After retirement, she went to college online to obtain a Bachelor's degree in Business, and graduated with honors. The most valuable thing she received from her time with UOP was a realization that her life's passion is writing. Now her business degree sits in her desk drawer, and she counts herself in the category of Writer/Activist. Someday she will make money writing, but that is not why she does it. "I do it because I must. A driving force compels me to reach out to others with what I learn about the condition we the people are in, and that is what I devote my time to. After all, time is the most precious thing we have, and the older I get the more I want to use it wisely."
